A treely good day out: another 1,500 trees planted as part of sustainability commitment

Earlier this week, our very own MD Steve Thornton spent a day planting tree saplings alongside Rewards.Earth and Green Task Force.

Joined by other veterans out in the East Yorkshire October sun, they spent several hours planting over 1,500 saplings, which is part of our commitment to plant a minimum of 7,400 trees per year.

Steve said: “Giving back is what we are all about. Nice to get the hands dirty again – and bacon rolls made it all worth it!”

As a company, we are aware of the impact our business has on the environment. We are therefore committed to our sustainability agenda, providing the necessary resources and working with colleagues to realise our vision and ambitions to make a positive difference.

To achieve our goal of planting 7,400 trees in 2022, we have partnered with Green Task Force and Rewards.Earth, who work to create positive pathways for veterans through nature-based activities. The reasons for this are two-fold: to enable people to do their part in fighting climate change, and to promote positive mental health in veterans and blue light services personnel. Spending time in nature has been proven to have positive effects on mental health, including reducing stress, blood pressure, depression, and anxiety.
